CILS

CILS is a certificate issued by the University of Siena, which evaluates the level of linguistic and communicative competence in Italian for foreign speakers, and is based on a test on communicative skills.

Exam dates

June 5, 2024 at 9:00 (C1 and C2) B2 no spots left
December 5, 2024 at 9:00 (B1 and C1)

You have to bring a black pen for the written exam and your ID card or passport.

Dates for the oral exams

The date and time for the oral exam will be communicated to the candidate one week before the exam via email. The exam might take place the same day as the written exam at the end of the morning, in the afternoon or on a different date.

Candidates who have date and time constraints regarding the oral exam will have to contact the school (Chus Rodríguez), at least three weeks before taking the exam. To the extent possible, the needs of each student will be accommodated.

Where feasible, we will try to meet your needs.

From September 1 to October 23, 2024.

Registration procedure

STEPS

First step

To sign up for the CILS exams you need to send the following documents. If you don’t follow the instructions we cannot guarantee your registration:

Registration form (registration application, consent to data transfer). Both documents must be filled in and signed.
Copy of ID card (DNI)
Copy of the bank transfer note of the corresponding fees (Detailed concept: ID number (DNI) + Surname + First Name + CILS + level.)

Authorization to present / collect documentation and a copy of the ID card of the authorized person. (Only in cases where the documents are not presented/sent by the person concerned.)

The candidate should also print the notification of exam date document to have a record of the date, hour, and location of the written exam (this document is for the candidate and does not need to be turned in to the secretary).

Second step

The same day you pay the fee, and within the registration deadline, you must send the documents detailed in the first step to Lorca Institute.

Third step

Once we have checked all the documents and the payment, we will send you a confirmation by e-mail.

Results

Results are usually published within 1 to 3 months after the exam, depending on the level and the number of candidates (this time does not depend on Lorca Institute). As soon as results are available, candidates will be informed by mail.

Certificate

The certificate is usually available between 1 to 2 months after the publication of the results (this time does not depend on Lorca Institute). As soon as we receive the oficial certificates, candidates will be informed by mail.

All students who take the exam can see their results on the UNISTRASI website and can also download the PDF document which is valid for self-certification purposes pending receipt of the official certificate.

Registration

You don’t need to be a student at Lorca Institute in order to register for the exam. The certificate does not expire. Places limited to 10 students per level.
