Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (EOI)
The exams of the EOI are demanding and require thorough preparation. They consist of three or four parts: reading, listening, writing, and (depending on the level) speaking. Levels from A1 to B1 are tested. You can register either as an independent candidate (in June only) or as a student of the EOI (in June and, if necessary, September).
These are the only exams that provide points for primary and high school teachers looking to work in the public system.
We prepare both independent candidates and EOI students.
HSK (an abbreviation of Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), translated as the Chinese Proficiency Test, is the standardized test of Standard Mandarin Chinese for non-native speakers.
The HSK consists of three different levels: Basic (sublevels 1-2), Intermediate (sublevels 3-4), Advanced (sublevels 5-6) and consists of three exercises (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression), although the first two levels (HSK 1 and HSK 2) do not include written expression.
For levels 1-2, the maximum grade is 200 and the minimum passing grade is 120.
For levels 3-6, the maximum grade is 300 and the minimum passing grade is 180.
